Two Lane Stories

“Charles Mason III is a visual artist who uses photography, mixed media, installation, and painting to discuss social, racial, political, historical, and identity issues. He creates art in order to stimulate self-evaluation, community consciousness, and social change. Charles is continually motivated by the means in which art can break boundaries and speak to the masses. In curating the exhibition Two Lane Stories, Charles looks to continue to break these boundaries and create conversation through the selected works and featured interviews, documenting the obstacles, issues, and expectations each “Black Man Artist” in the exhibition faces through their work and art making practice. Two Lane Stories allows an inside look at 6 artists based in the state of Maryland, ranging from emerging to established, and to show how they navigate the space of being black, a man, and an artist.”
